Product Overview

The SMC EZ SwitchTM 10/100 family includes the SMCFS502 and SMCFS802, 5- and 8-port unmanaged 10/100 Mbps

Fast Ethernet switches with a plastic-case chassis that deliver high-speed copper to the desktop. Environmentally friendly,

they consume up to 77%* less power than non-Green Ethernet switches, without reducing network performance. QoS

priority and Auto-MDI/MDIX on all ports makes these desktop switches ideal for home and small office network environments.

Key Features and Benefits

IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet Support

When two 802.3az-compliant switches are connected, up to

77%* of power consumption can be saved.

Support for Port-Based Quality of Service

The switches support port-based Quality of Service, where

traffic on some ports has a higher priority than other ports.

Ports 1-3 on the SMCFS502 and ports 1-5 on the SMCFS802

have higher priority.

The Smallest Pocket-Size Switch

The SMCFS502 and SMCFS802 switches are extremely

compact and light. The SMCFS502 is smaller than a credit

card and weighs only 43g. These devices easily fit in your

pocket and are ideal for small offices and travel.

Broadcast Storm Control and CRC Filtering

Broadcast storm control prevents broadcast traffic storms

from consuming bandwidth, and CRC filtering stops bad

packets from propagating throughout the network.

Micro and Mini USB Interfaces

The SMCFS502/SMCFS802 can be powered through its

Mini or Micro USB interface. The Micro USB interface is a

new USB standard for 2012. When traveling, it allows you

to use your camera or smartphone USB cable and charger

to power the switches.

Auto MDI/MDI-X on Each Port

Support for Auto-MDI/MDIX means that no crossover cables

are required. Straight-through cables can be used for all

connections.
