OVERVIEW
The TigerSwitch 10/100/1000 SMC8126L2/SMC8150L2 provide wire speed 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet
switching specially designed for SMB workgroup environments. High-speed performance combined with an
advanced feature set allows an increase in throughput and fl exibility for the SMB. Built around the late
st
in switching silicon design to provide lowe
st power but highest performance. The SMC8126L2/SMC8150L2
are also future proofed for growth as new software features become standardized and e
ssential for the SMB
network. As part of SMC’s on-going commitment to the environment this new switch family has been de-
signed with the late
st environment standards in mind concerning manufacturing processes, packaging and
recycling.

KEY FEATURES
MultiLink Trunking with LACP Flexible Security Features
Including the ability to bundle together the front panel ports to
provide higher performing uplinks. Tr
unk links can be confi gured
manually or using the 803.2ad standard which is supported on this
switch family.
Se
curity is critical to next generation networks. This switch family
includes a range of User and Device security functions which
will help protect the network. Secure management interfaces for
protecting device confi guration and secure user acce
ss using
802.1x or Private Vlans to prevent unauthorized a
ccess.
Highest Performance and Lo
west Power IP Clustering
As part of S
MC commitment to green networking this switch family
is designed around the late
st generation switching silicon which
can provide high performance and the low power requirements
such as 38W for the SMC8126L2. Translating into approximately
1.4W per port for the 26 port and 1.3W per port for the 50 port.
Ease of management is crucial and to help deliver this we have
included IP Clustering. This allows users to group together up to
32 switches as part of a logical cluster. The units can be part of
this switch family or from the SMC61xxL2 family giving added
fl exibility.
