IP Commands
An IP address may be used for management access to the switch over your
network. By default, the switch’s IP address is set via DHCP. If you wish to
manually configure an IP address, you need to change the switch’s default
settings (IP address 0.0.0.0 and netmask 255.0.0.0) so that they are
compatible with your network. You may also need to a establish a default
gateway between the switch and management stations that exist on another
network segment.
Note: The access mode shown in the table is indicated by these
abbreviations: NE (Normal Exec), PE (Privileged Exec),
GC (Global Configuration), IC (Interface Configuration),
LC (Line Configuration), VC (VLAN Database Configuration.)
