Introduction
Telephony via the Bluetooth
®
interface is
available in conjunction with a
Bluetooth
®
-capable phone. With asuitable
mobile phone, you can use the hands-free
system via the Bluetooth
®
interface and
download contacts from the mobile phone,
e.g. via PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile).
For more information on suitable mobile
phones and on connecting Bluetooth
®
-
capable mobile phones to audio system
navigation/multimedia, contact your
smart Center.

WARNING
Excessive electromagnetic radiation may
constitute ahealth hazard to yourself and
others.
There is scientificdiscussion
surrounding the possible health risks
posed by electromagnetic fields. You can
reduce this risk by using an exterior
antenna. Therefore, only use mobile
communication equipment if it is
connected to the exterior antenna of the
vehicle.
Two-way radios and fax machines without
low-reflection exterior antennas may
interfere with the vehicle electronics and
thereby compromise the operational safety
of the vehicle and thereby your safety as
well. Therefore, only use these if they are
correctly connected to aseparate, low-
reflectionexterior antenna.

General notes
Call disconnection while the vehicle is
in motion
Acall may be disconnected if:
R
the mobile phone battery is not
sufficiently charged.
R
there is insufficient GSM network
coverage in certain areas.
R
you move from one GSM transmitter/
receiver area (GSM cell) into another and
no channels are free.
R
you use aSIM card which is not
compatible with the available network.
R
you are using amobile phone with
"Twincard" and the mobile phone with
the second SIM card is already logged
into the network.
Function restrictions
You will not be able to use the telephone,
will no longer be able to use the telephone,
or you may have to wait before using it, in
the following situations:
R
if the mobile phone is not switched on
R
when the "Bluetooth
®
"function is
switched off in the mobile phone
R
if the mobile phone is not logged into a
mobile phone network
the telephone automatically tries to log
on to anetwork. If no network is
available, you will not be able to make a
"911" emergency call.
R
if you switch off audio system
navigation/multimediaduring acall in
hands-free mode, the call is transferred
to the mobile phone.
