Welcome!
Thank you for your purchase of the Smart Forced Air Register product.
Introduction
The Register product is designed to allow the user to add climate control zones to their home or office.
Each Register can be associated (i.e. linked) to one SFA (Smart Forced Air) Thermostat. Multiple
Registers can be associated to one Thermosat.
Physical Installation
Verify that the size and type (floor, wall, or ceiling) of the SFA Register selected matches the size of the
register that is being replaced.
Simply remove the existing register and replace it with the SFA Register. If the register is mounted in a
wall or on the ceiling, use the included screws to secure the register.
System Linking
Your new Smart Forced Air Comfort System requires a small amount of setup to let the system know
which SFA Registers are associated with each Thermostat. The process to setup the system is as follows:
Ensure the Thermostat has already been linked to the Director.
Once the Thermostat is linked to the Director, enter Linking mode on the Thermostat
Then push the link button on the Register that you would like to associate with the Thermostat
Repeat the process of linking the Thermostat with any additional Registers you would like
associated with that Thermostat
That’s it!
Register Maintenance
To ensure proper operation, it is a good idea to clean the Register with a vacuum and/or a dry rag every
year or so. In high traffic areas with lots of dust and dirt, you might find you like to clean more
frequently.
You will need to change the D cell battery in your Register every so often. The exact length of time
between changes will depend on your specific setup, how often the register vanes moves, how far they
move, etc. In general, we are hopeful you won’t need to do this more than once every few years. The
SFA System will give you alerts when this is necessary.
