INTENDED USE
The Antenna Extension Kit is an accessory set for the following SMA inverters:
• Sunny Boy 5.0 (SB5.0-1SP-US-40)
• Sunny Boy 6.0 (SB6.0-1SP-US-40)
The Antenna Extension Kit is an accessory set for one SMA inverter and optimizes the SMA inverter’s radio range in
the WLAN network.
The product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The inverter still complies with the standard after the product has
been installed.
Use this product only in accordance with the information provided in the enclosed documentation and with the locally
applicable standards and directives. Any other application may cause personal injury or property damage.
Alterations to the product, e.g., changes or modi󹻭cations, are only permitted with the express written permission of
SMA. Unauthorized alterations will void guarantee and warranty claims and usually void the operating license. SMA
shall not be held liable for any damage caused by such changes.
Any use of the product other than that described in the Intended Use section does not qualify as appropriate.
The enclosed documentation is an integral part of this product. Before installing or using the product, read and
observe all instructions, safety precautions and warning messages in this document and in the product
documentation at www.SMA-Solar.com. Keep the documentation in a convenient place for future
reference.
SAFETY INFORMATION
DANGER TO LIFE DUE TO ELECTRIC SHOCK
When exposed to sunlight, the PV array generates dangerous DC voltage which is present in the DC
conductors and the live components of the inverter. Touching the DC conductors or the live components can
lead to lethal electric shocks.
This manual is intended only for electrically quali󹻭ed persons, trained in the installation and commissioning of
electrical devices and installations and experienced in mounting and commissioning PV systems.
• Work on the inverter must only be performed by electrically quali󹻭ed persons.
• Do not touch the DC conductors or any other uninsulated conductors.
• Do not open the enclosure lid of the Power Unit (upper part).
• Disconnect the inverter from all voltage sources before working on the inverter or the PV array:

DANGER: After step 2, a dangerous DC voltage
is present at the DC cables and the connecting
terminal plate of the DC connection inside the
inverter.
• Wait 5 minutes after disconnection.
• Do not remove the DC cable from the connecting
terminal plate.
• Leave the connecting terminal plate with its
connected DC cables plugged.
