Operation Manual
INSTALLATION AND USE
Unpack the unit. Do not connect the mains lead of the remote control yet. Connect the lead
of the remote control fitted with the 5-pin connector to the rear panel of the fog machine or if
the unit will be DMX controlled, connect the DMX lead fitted with the 3-pin XLR connector.
Open the ice tank by removing the 2 screws on the front/top side and open the cover of the
top side. Fill the ice tank with normal ice cubes or dry ice. You can fill in up to 8 kg of ice
cubes. Close the ice tank properly after filling.
OPEN THE COVER ONLY WHEN THE UNIT IS SWITCHED OFF!!
Fill the fog fluid tank via a suitable funnel. Then plug the unit into a mains outlet. This
switches the heating element automatically on. The pre-heating time lasts for about 12
minutes depending on the room temperature. Once the temperature is reached, the
thermostat clicks and the unit is ready for use. The fog machine can produce continuously
fog for about 2 ½ minutes. After this period, the fog generator is cooled down and the
thermostat switches off. The unit needs to heat up again for a few minutes. If you produce
fog at intervals, the temperature remains at the right level and the thermostat doesn’t switch
off.
EVACUATION OF MELT WATER
After use, you need to evacuate the melt water. There are 2 ways of proceeding:
1. Tilt the unit slightly forwards and open the tap on the front panel. Collect the water in
a basin.
2. Evacuate the melt water via the built-in pump. Connect a hose to the output at the
rear side. Switch the pump on via the switch on the rear panel of the unit.
MAKE SURE THAT THE WATER IS EVACUATED EVERY DAY
OPERATION VIA THE REMOTE CONTROL
First of all, switch the unit off before you plug or unplug the remote control.
Connect the remote control to the fog machine via the 5-pin DIN connector.
Check if all dip-switches on the rear panel are set to OFF. Switch the fog
machine on via the main switch at the rear panel. Switch the remote control on
or off via the START switch (7). When the remote control is connected, the red
LED (4) lights up.
Once the fog machine has reached the right temperature, the green LED (5)
will light up. The unit can be controlled manually via the MANUAL button (8).
Switch the timer function on via the TIMER switch (6). When this function is
switched on, the yellow LED (3) lights up. When the remote control is in timer mode, the
intervals and the duration of the fog production can be set via the potmeters 1 & 2.
CONTINUAL (1) sets the duration of the fog production between 0.5 & 10 seconds.
INTERVAL (2) sets the interval time between two fog productions between 15 & 240
seconds.
DMX CONTROLLED OPERATION
The fog/ice machine features a built-in DMX control which allows to incorporate the unit into
a DMX circuit. Select the start address via the dip switches on the rear panel (switch 1 on =
address 1, 2 on = address 2, 3 on = address 4, etc.) The unit has 1 DMX channel. You can
set the output volume between 0 & 100%. The interval functions, etc. can be programmed
via a DMX controller.
SWITCHING OFF
Switch the unit off by unplugging it from the mains. Otherwise the 1000W heating element
continues to draw current.
