WARNING: Before any service operation can be performed, it is necessary to purge the
refrigerant from the system. DO NOT open unit components until all
refrigerant has been purged from the system.
PURGE PROCEDURE
1. Connect the unit to power.
2. Drain the RECOVERED oil and close both valves on the tank.
3. Disconnect the vapor outlet hose from the tank and the Liquid Charging/Utility hose from
the tank and machine.
4. Connect the Liquid Charging/Utility hose ABB end to the storage tank vapor port and the
quick connect end to the PURGE OUTLET then turn SERVICE VALVE to the OFF
position.
5. Disconnect the BLUE 96” service hose from the machine and connect the Vapor Outlet
hose to the BLUE service hose port.
6. Turn the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the RECOVER position and open the low side
manifold valve.
7. Open the storage tank vapor valve and press the RECOVER ON button.
8. The unit will purge its circuitry and automatically shut off. Immediately close the storage
tank vapor valve then remove the quick connect end of the Utility Hose from the machine
and turn the SERVICE VALVE to the ON position.
9. Turn the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the CLOSED position, press the RECOVER OFF
button then disconnect power.
YOU CAN NOW SAFELY PERFORM MACHINE MAINTENANCE
FILTER CHANGE PROCEDURE
The maximum filter life is 30 hours. After each filter change, record the time elapsed on the
hour meter (located on the control panel of the unit) in a log book. After 30 hours of elapsed
time, change the filter regardless of the moisture level shown on the moisture indicator.
1. Purge the system as described above.
2. Remove the large back cover from the unit, remove the right side locking pin from the
vacuum pump platform and swing it out of the way then remove the 8 bolts from filter cover,
remove the old gasket from the cover and the old filter core.
3. Install the new gasket in the filter cover groove and filter core, hole end down, in the
housing. Lubricate the new gasket with ESTER oil to prevent kinking.
4. Reinstall the cover and tighten the bolts in a crossing pattern to 15 ft. lb.
