VACUUM PROCEDURE
NOTE: This is a two stage vacuum pump equipped with a ballast bleed valve. Open the
valve when instructed then close it within 5 seconds after motor start. The mist
discharge from the vacuum pump vent is a normal part of the vacuum process.
1. When vacuum is selected the machine checks for positive pressure in the AC system. If
positive pressure is detected, the screen will display "REFRIGERANT PRESSURE
DETECTED. RECOVER BEFORE PROCEEDING." Press the EXIT button to go to the
recover function in the main menu.
2. If no pressure is present, the next message displayed will ask "DO YOU WANT TO ADD
OIL TO THE AC SYSTEM?". If the answer is yes, press the YES button. The next
message will instruct you to place the type and amount of oil wanted in the bottle and place
it in the holding bracket. Press CONTINUE when you are ready.
2A. The next screen will ask you to select the vacuum time. Press the ▲ button for the time
desired (must be more than 5 minutes). After the screen displays the “OPEN BALLAST
BLEED VALVE” message, the vacuum pump will start and run for 5 minutes. If an
adequate vacuum is present, the machine will stop and display the message "OPEN OIL
CHARGE VALVE NOW -- CLOSE VALVE WHEN CHARGE IS COMPLETE". Open the
oil charge hand valve to allow the oil to be pulled into the system.
IMPORTANT: ALLOW ENOUGH TIME FOR THE VACUUM TO PULL THE OIL INTO
THE AC SYSTEM AND CLEAR OF THE HOSES BEFORE PRESSING
THE CONTINUE BUTTON.
When completed, close the valve and press the CONTINUE button. The vacuum pump will
restart and complete the remaining run time.
3. If your answer is no, press the NO button. The screen will display the vacuum time
selection screen. Press the ▲ button for the time desired then press the CONTINUE
button to activate the vacuum pump.
4. Once the selected run time has completed, the vacuum pump will stop and the unit will
pause for 1 minute to check for leaks. If vacuum is lost, the screen will display "LEAK
DETECTED. CHECK AC SYSTEM." If vacuum is held, the screen will display "VACUUM
