BEFORE OPERATING YOUR SUPERSKYE MACHINE FOR THE FIRST TIME READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL THEN COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES. Your new EP6 must be prepared for use prior to any operation with refrigerant. Follow the steps in the SET UP selection from MENU 3. This procedure can be used once at the time of initial set up. It will be deactivated at completion of set up. THE DEFAULT REFRIGERANT FOR SET UP IS R134a. 1.
R134a CHANGE GATE R12 5. When the button for the desired refrigerant is pushed, the next screen will be displayed. CONNECT TANK OPEN TANK VALVES REFRIGERANT ________ CONTINUE EXIT 6. Press the CONTINUE button to initiate the automatic preparation sequence. DO NOT interrupt this sequence. The service hoses may be connected to the machine while this operation is in process. 7. When the set up cycle is completed, the machine will stop and display the MAIN MENU.
DISPLAY PROCEDURE When DISPLAY is selected the screen will change to the working display. This should be the first screen used when the machine is connected to an AC system to allow the technician to determine the A/C system’s condition. This screen allows AC system checks and trouble shooting with the greater ability to locate and diagnose problems than allowed by normal gauge set methods.
NOTE: Before selecting automatic operation check the AC system for pressure and performance using the DISPLAY function. This will allow you to select the appropriate routine for the job being done. ⌦IMPORTANT: Before running the automatic routine, the vehicle AC system must be off. Connect both service hoses to vehicle. Open tank vapor valve and tank liquid valve. When AUTO is selected, the machine will perform the recovery, vacuum and charge functions automatically.
When CAPACITY CHART is selected, the refrigerant capacity chart screen will be displayed. Push the MAKE button to toggle to the YEAR selections then use the UP/DOWN arrows to scroll to the desired year.
⌦IMPORTANT: Before recovering with your SUPERSKYE machine, the vehicle AC system must be off. Connect service hoses to vehicle. Open tank vapor valve and close tank liquid valve. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Press the RECOVER button from the main menu selection. The scale calibration message will be displayed. Press the CONTINUE button. The working display will come up and indicate the tank weight, % full, ambient temperature, internal system pressure and the low and high side AC system pressures.
VACUUM PROCEDURE NOTE: This is a two stage vacuum pump equipped with a ballast bleed valve. Open the valve when instructed then close it within 5 seconds after motor start. The mist discharge from the vacuum pump vent is a normal part of the vacuum process. CONTINUE 1. The main screen shown in manual charge will display when the CONTINUE button is pushed. Enter the charge amount desired then press GO to start the charge. 2. The machine will follow the manual charge operation sequence. DISPLAY MODE: Press this button to select the type of measurement desired. Pounds will be displayed in lbs. and oz. (2 lb. 6 oz). Kilograms will be displayed in hundredths (.85 Kg). Pressures will be displayed in PSI, Kpa or mBAR.

PURGE EXIT Press and hold the purge button to release pressure from the tank. When the button is released, the previous screen will be displayed to recheck for NCG. If no NCG is detected, the refrigerant OK message will be displayed. This process may have to be repeated several times to purge large quantities of NCG. If the allowable purge weight limit is reached, you will be notified to wait 20 minutes and check NCG again.
START When the START button is pushed the display will change to the next screen and indicate the time remaining to complete the change. The unit will automatically perform the internal operations and tests required. Once the change process has started do not interrupt the automatic sequence. CHANGING REFRIGERANT SYS ________ TIME As the machine is performing its internal functions, the screen will display the internal (system) pressure or vacuum.
MAIN MENU Check for leaks at the hose connection points and ABB valves. This will be the most likely area where leaks will occur. Also check the tank liquid valve to be sure it is closed. If the service hoses are leaking at the vehicle end, disconnect the hoses from the machine, cap the ports and restart the change procedure from the main menu. Repair or replace the hoses as soon as possible. If a leak is located in the machine, call the SKYE toll free tech line (1-800722-7593) for immediate assistance.
YES When the DONE button is pressed, the filter timer will reset and the air will be removed from the filter circuit. If the required vacuum is not reached in the time allowed, the screen will display the following message and the machine will stop. SYSTEM TIMED OUT CHECK FOR LEAKS CONTINUE Check to be sure that the filter is installed correctly and that the “O” ring seal is not damaged. When the leak has been fixed, press the CONTINUE button to restart the air removal process.

All weights, pressures and temperatures will be displayed as selected until you change the settings.
Press the EXIT button to return to the main menu. UPDATE PROCEDURE This procedure will only be used when updating the operating program and data base in your SuperSKYE machine. Specific installation instructions will be provided with the update information. When the UPDATE button in menu 4 is pushed the following screen will be displayed.
Check vacuum pump oil level regularly. Oil should be present on the tip of the dipstick. Add oil through the vent/dipstick tube as necessary. Change vacuum pump oil at least monthly to maintain optimum performance. Use SKYE part # 276030 only. The machine will notify the user when the filter life has expired. Follow the on screen instructions for changing the filter. The electronics and other features of this machine are not user serviceable. Call SKYE for technical support at 1-800- 722-7593.
Unit will not turn on. Change Gas displays check for leak message and will not complete change operation. Motor will not run. For technical difficulties not mentioned - Improper operation allowing pressure to be vented through vacuum pump. Solenoid valve malfunction. Power not connected. Using heat blanket switch not master power switch. Fuse blown. Hoses connected to machine incorrectly. Hose leaking or port(s) not capped. Missing hose gasket. Tank liquid valve open.
