ESSENTIAL PRE-OPERATING PROCEDURES Before operating your SKYE machine for the first time, the following procedures must be performed. Your new machine and storage tank are already in a vacuum. SET UP PROCEDURE 1. Open the storage tank vapor port (marked vapor) then locate and remove the gauge set prop rod from the storage tank cavity. 2. Remove the yellow cover from the machine and install the gauge set prop rod using the two holes on the right side frame channel then reinstall the yellow cover. 3.
6. Close the storage tank vapor valve. 7. Drain the recovered oil into the measuring bottle provided. You may replace this amount of new oil back into the AC system. NOTE: If the unit stops during the recovery process and the red TANK FULL light glows when the ON button is pressed, the tank is full and must be replaced. All new tanks must be evacuated prior to use. TO RECOVER LIQUID REFRIGERANT IMPORTANT: Your manifold gauge set yellow (center) hose must have a Schrader valve depressor installed. 1.
NOTE: Perform the NCG check daily prior to using your machine. The NCG bleed valve on the upper rear center of the machine allows manual venting of noncondensable gases that may accumulate during the recovery process. 1. With the storage tank vapor port open, compare the readings on the 2 gauges mounted on the side of the machine. Gauge A indicates the actual System Pressure - Gauge B indicates virgin Sample Pressure. 2.
1. Purge the system if not already done. 2. Remove the brass cap from the compressor oil drain port located at the front center bottom of the compressor then tilt the unit forward to drain the oil. CAUTION: Be careful not to overbalance and drop the unit. 3. Connect a vacuum pump to the recovered oil drain port on the side of the machine and open the valve 4.
Caution: Use only 50 lb. storage tanks approved by SKYE with this machine. The storage tank scale platform is preset to turn the compressor off if the total tank plus refrigerant weight exceeds 67 lbs.(80% of rated capacity). If adjustment is necessary, use the following steps. 1. Raise the machine off the floor to gain access to the microswitch and platform height adjusting bolts. DO NOT LAY THE MACHINE DOWN. 2. Set the tank platform leading edge clearance at 1/8” from the machine base. 3.
