4. Disconnect the OEM rear track bar from the frame using a 21mm socket
/ wrench. (See Photo # 18)
5. In order to gain access to the OEM rear upper shock mounting bolts,
remove the OEM rear lower fender liners using a 8mm socket / wrench.
(See Photo # 19)
6. Remove the OEM rear shocks using a 18mm socket / wrench. (See
Photo # 20)
7. Disconnect the OEM rear brake line brackets from the frame & rear
differential using a 10mm socket / wrench & 13mm socket / wrench.
(See Photo # 21)
8. While checking for appropriate slack in ABS lines, brake lines, differential
vent hose, & etc. Lower the rear differential & remove the OEM rear coil
springs.
9. Install the new Skyjacker rear upper track bar bracket to the frame with
the double hole side of the new rear upper track bar bracket towards the
outside of the vehicle using the supplied 1/2" x 5" bolt, 1/2" washers,
1/2" nut, 9/16" x 1 1/4" bolts, 9/16" washers, 9/16" nuts, a 3/4" socket /
wrench, 13/16" socket / wrench, & 7/8" socket / wrench. (See Photo
# 22) Note: Install the 1/2" bolt & 9/16" bolts with the threads inward of
the new rear upper track bar bracket. It may be neccessary to slightly
grind the welds of the OEM rear upper track bar bracket on the frame in
order for the new rear upper track bar bracket to be installed easily over
the OEM rear upper track bar bracket on the frame.
10. Install the new Skyjacker rear bump stop spacers to the OEM rear bump
stop pads using the supplied 5/16" x 1" bolts, 5/16" washers, 5/16" nuts,
& a 1/2" socket / wrench. (See Photo # 23) Note: Install the new rear
bump stop spacers so the angled end is towards the rear of the vehicle.
