MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Engi ne Oil
Recommended Engine Oil
UseXP-SSUMMERGRADEOIL
(P/N 293 600 121).
130 and 155 Engines
If the XP-S e ngine oil is no t av ailable,
use a 5W 40 engine oil meeting the
requirements for API s ervice classifi-
cation SM, SL or SJ. Always check the
API service label certification on the oi l
container, it must contain at least one
of the above standards .
215 and 255 Engines
If XP-S engine oil is not available, us e a
5W 40 engine oil com pa tible w ith wet
clutches.
NO TE: The XP -S engine oil has been
thoroughly tested to be free of any
additives that could im pa ir t he func-
tionality of the s uperc ha rger clutch .
NO TICE
Do not use an engine oil
meeting the requirement for API ser-
vice classification SM or SL. Using
a lubricant not compatible with wet
clutches will impair the proper oper-
ation of the su percharger clutch. Do
not add an y add itives to the reco m-
mended oil.
Engine Oil Level
NO TICE
Check level frequ entl y
and refill if nece ssar y. Do not over-
fill. Operating the engine with an
improper level may severely dam-
age engine.
WARNING
Certain components in the engine
compartment may be ver y ho t .
Direct contact may r esult in skin
burn.
Oil level can be checked either with
watercraft in w ater or out of wa ter.
If Watercraft is Out of the Water
1. Watercraft must be level. Raise
trailer tongue and block in position
when bum per ra il is l ev el.
2. In stall a garden hose to the flushi ng
connector. R efer to
FLUSHING in
POST-OPERATION CARE and fol-
low the procedure.
NO TICE
Never run engine without
supplying w ater to the ex haust sys-
tem. Failure to cool e xhaust system
may severely d amage it.
NO TICE
Never run eng in e longer
than 5 minutes. Drive line seal has
no cooling when watercraft is out of
water.
3. With the engine already a t normal
operating conditi on, let engine idle
for 30 seconds th en stop engi ne.
4. Wa it at least 30 seconds then pul l
dipstick out and wipe clean.
