OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Exhaust System Flushing
NO TE: Including intercooler on super-
charged m odels.
General
Flushing the exhaus t system an d in-
tercooler (s uperc ha rged models) with
fresh water is essential to neutralize
corroding effects of salt or other chem -
ical products present in water. I t wil l
help to rem ov e san d, salt, shells or
other particles in water jackets and/or
hoses.
Flushing s hould be performed when
the watercraft is not expected to be
used further the same day or when the
watercraft is stored for any extend ed
time.
WARNING
Perform this operation in a well
ventilated area.
Procee d as follows:
Clean jet pump by spraying water in its
inlet and outlet and then apply a coating
of XP-S Lube o r equ iva lent.
WARNING
When operating t he engine while
the watercraft is ou t of the water,
the heat exchanger in the ride plate
may become very hot. Avoid any
contact with ride plate as burns
may occur.
Connect a garden hose to co nnec tor
located at the rear of watercraft on jet
pump support. Do not open water tap
yet.
NO TE: An optio na l quick connect
adapter c an be used (P/N 295 500 473).
No h os e pincher is required to flu sh en-
gine.

Flushing
To flu sh , start the engine then immedi-
ately open the w ater tap.
WARNING
Certain components in the engine
compartment may be ver y ho t .
Direct contact may r esult in skin
burn. Do not touch any electrical
parts or jet pump area when en-
gine is running.
NO TICE
Never fl ush a hot en-
gine. Always start the engine before
opening the water tap. Open wa-
ter ta p i mmediately after engine i s
started to prevent overheating.
Run the engine about 20 seconds at a
fast idle between 4000 - 5000 RPM.
NO TICE
Never run engine without
supplying w ater to the ex haust sys-
tem when watercraft is out of water.
Ensure water flo ws out of jet pump
while flushing. Otherwise, refer to a n
authorized S ea -D oo dealer for servic-
ing.
