Steering
F18J09Y
Turning the handlebar pivots the jet
pump nozzle which controls the w a ter-
craft direction. Turning the handlebar
to the right will turn the watercraft to
the right and inversely. The throttle
should be appli ed to turn th e wa ter-
craft.
WARNING
Throttle should be applied and
handlebar turned to change the di-
rection of the watercraft . Steering
efficie ncy will differ depending on
the number of passenger s, load,
water conditions and environmen-
tal factors such as the wind.
Unlike a c ar, a w a tercraft needs some
throttle to turn. Practice in a safe area
applying the throttle a nd turning away
from a n imaginary object. This is a
good collision avoida nc e techni que.
WARNING
Directional control is reduced
whenthethrottleisrele
ased
and/or when eng i ne is off.
The w atercraft behaves differently
with a pa s s enger and requires greater
skill. The passen
ger should always
grip the seat s trap or gra b ha ndle. Re-
