The DESS key should b e sec urely
snapped onto its pos t to be fully op-
erational.
Pulling the key from the DESS post
stops the engine opera tion.
WARNING
While engine can be stopped us-
ing the engine start/stop button,
good habits recommend that the
DESS key also be disconnected
when stopping.
Attach the safety lanyard to the oper-
ator's Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
and snap the key t o the DESS post to
be able to start the engine.
Two short be eps indicates the system
is ready to a ll ow engine starting. Oth-
erwise, refer to the
TROUBLESHOOT-
ING
section.

WARNING
Shouldtheenginebestopped,wa-
tercraf t directional control is re-
duced. Always disconnect DESS
key when watercraft is not in oper-
ation in order to prevent ac c idental
engine starting or to avoid unau-
thorized use by children, others or
theft.
If engine is not started wi thin 5 s ec-
onds a fter installing the DESS k ey on
its post, 4 v ery short beeps at different
interval will sound for ap prox ima tely
4 hours to remind y ou to sta rt the en-
gine or to remove the DESS key. After-
wards, the beeps will stop. The same
