5. CONDITIONS TO HAVE WARRANTY COVERAGE
This warranty covera ge is available only if each of the following conditions has
been fulfilled:
– The 2009 Sea-Doo personal waterc ra f t must be purchased as new and unused
by its first owner from a BRP dealer authorized to distribute Sea-Doo p ersona l
watercraft in the country in w hich the sale occurred (“BRP dealer”);
– The B RP specified pre delivery inspec tion proces s must be completed and doc-
umented ;
– The 2009 Sea -Doo pers ona l watercra f t must ha v e undergone proper registra-
tion by an authoriz ed B RP dealer;
– The 2009 Sea -Do o p erso na l waterc raft m us t be purchased in the c ountry i n
which the purchaser resides;
– Routine maintenance outlined in the Operator’s G uide m ust be timely per-
formed in order to maintain warranty coverage. B R P reserves the right to make
warranty cov era ge c ontingent upon pro of of proper ma intenance.
BRP w il l not honour this limi ted warranty to any private use owner or co m m erc ial
use owner if the preceding c onditions have not bee n met. Such limitations are
necessary in order to allow B RP to pres erve both the safety of its products, and
also that of its c ons um ers an d the general public.
6. WHAT TO DO T O OBTAIN WARRANTY CO VERAGE
The cus tom er mus t cea se using the Sea-Doo personal watercraft upon the
appearance of an a nom a ly. The customer must no tify an authorized servici ng
BRP dealer within two (2) days of the ap pea ran ce of a defect, and provide it with
reasonable access to the product and reasonable opportun ity to rep air it. The
customer mus t also present to the authorized BRP dealer, proof of purchas e of
the product and m us t sign the repair/work order prior to the st a rt of the repair in
order to validate the warranty r epair. All parts replaced under this limited w arranty
become the property of BRP.
7. WHAT BRP WILL DO
BRP’s obligations under this wa rra nty are limi ted to, at its sole discretion, repairi ng
parts found defective under normal use, mainten an ce and service, or replacing
such parts wit h new genuine BRP pa rts without ch arg e for parts and labor, at any
authorized BRP dealer during the warranty coverage period under the condi tions
described herein. No claim of breach of w arranty shall be the cause for cancella-
tion or rescission of the s ale of the S ea -Do o personal wate rcraft to the ow ner.
In the e ve nt that service is required outside of the cou ntry of original s a le, the
owner will bea r responsibility for an y additional c ha rges due to local prac tices
and co ndition s, such as, but not limited to, freight, ins ura nc e, taxes, li ce ns e f ees ,
import duties, and any and all other financial charges , including those levied by
governments, states, territorie s and their respective a gencies.
BRP res erv es the rig ht to improve or modify products from time t o time without as-
suming any obligation to m odify produc ts previo us ly m a nufa c tured.
