Gas Ox Box Benets
Frame Extension (696-EX): extends box face •
for installations thicker than ½" drywall
Solid Frame Insert (696-SC): can be cut as •
desired to t around gas lines for ush cover
Box/frame can be painted or wallpapered •
and has a modern beveled frame
Iron Pipe test plug included in each •
gas box installation kit.
Residential, commercial, and industrial direct •
connect application include: gas range, wall
heater, water heater, garage heater supply,
furnaces, laundry washers and dryers.
Installations
Before installing: Make sure valve and gas source are
turned off and line is purged before installation.
Set Ox Box supply box directly to stud and/or on 1
support bracket.
Insert supplied valve adapter through hole in the box 2
and hand tighten locknut.
Apply pipe thread sealant to male threads and tighten 3
supply piping. Tighten locknut with a wrench. For
CSST, follow applicable manufacturer’s installation
instructions for adapter.
Apply pipe thread sealant to bottom of valve and 4
tighten. Do not overtighten.
Check all connections for leaks using leak detector.5
Turn off gas supply and connect appliance according to 6
manufacturers instructions.
Note: Use appropriate and code mandated pipe protection
and insulation. Consult all local and applicable building/
gas codes prior to and during installation and testing. Use
box for indoor applications only. Keep ame or other com-
bustion sources away during installation.
