4.6.4 Foot clearance
WARNING
Risk of falling due to insufficient foot clearance.
Risk of accident and injury!
x Ensure there is adequate foot clearance, depending on the
foot anchoring system.
x Have the foot anchoring system fitted by a dealer.
With racing bikes, the distance between the
pedal and the front wheel must not fall below
a certain foot clearance value. The distance is
measured parallel to the longitudinal axis of
the cycle, from the midpoint of the pedals to
the arc of the front wheel at full steering lock
(see “Illustr.: Distance between the pedal and
front wheel”).
