performedbyqualiedandtrained
personnel.Observethefollowing
generalguidelinesforinstallation.
•Thesafenavigationofthevessel.
•The“Compasssafedistance”for
eachindividualunit.
•Ergonomicallycorrectoperating
andviewingheights.
•Maximumallowablecabledistancesbetweenthevariousunits.
•Theinstallationareasaredry,wellventilatedandfreeofexcessivedustandvibration.
•Easyaccesstothecableconnectionsonthebackoftheequipmentisprovided.
•Enoughextracableisallowedtofacilitatemaintenanceandservicebynothaving
todisconnectthecables.
Operatorstationcomputerinstallation
ThissectiondescribestheinstallationoftheMS70MultibeamOperatorStationcomputer.
Preparations
Provideamplespacearoundthecomputer.Thisisnecessarytoreachandusethefront
andrearmountedUSBconnectors,andtheCD/DVDplayer.Itisalsoimportantto
allowforeasyaccesstoallthecables,andtoprovideforinspection,maintenanceand
partsreplacement.
Makesurethatthecomputercanbefullyopenedforunobstructedaccesstoitsinternal
parts.
•Thecomputercanbeinstalledinsideaconsole,inacabinetor19”rack,oronadesk.
•Makesurethatadequateventilationisavailabletoavoidoverheating.
•Thecompasssafedistancemustbeallowedforwhenplanningthelocationoftheunit.
•Ensurethattheinstallationallowsforthephysicalmovementsandforcesnormally
experiencedonavessel.
•Ensurethatenoughspaceisprovidedformaintenancework.
