Sonarroomrequirements
The“sonarroom”isthecompartmentinwhichtheTransceiverUnitandthePower
SupplyUnitsareinstalled.
ObservetheseminimumrequirementstoobtainsuitableworkingconditionsforMS70
installation,useandmaintenance.
Sizeandaccess
Awelldesignedsonarroomreducestheriskofcorrosionandsimpliesmaintenance
increasingsystemreliability.
•Thesonarroommustbedimensionedtohousealltherelevantcabinetsthatcomprise
theSimradMS70.
•Thephysicaldistancebetweenthetransmittersandthetransducerislimiteddue
tothelengthofthetransducercables.
•Thesonarroommustnotbeunnecessarilyobstructedbygirders,pipesetc.which
mightcauseinstallationproblemsorimpedemaintenance.
•Thesonarroommustbeaccessibleunderallconditionsatseaorataberth.
•Alldoorsorhatchesmustbedesignedsothattheequipmentcanberemovedwithout
beingdisassembled.
Heating
Thesonarroommustbeequippedwithheater,dimensionedtomaintaintheequipment
withinitsenvironmentaltolerances(atleast1000W),installedclosetothedeck.Heating
isalsoaneffectivemethodforreducinghumidity.
