The“sonarroom”isthecompartmentinwhichtheTransceiverUnitandthePower
SupplyUnitsareinstalled.
ObservetheseminimumrequirementstoobtainsuitableworkingconditionsforMS70
installation,useandmaintenance.
Sizeandaccess
Awelldesignedsonarroomreducestheriskofcorrosionandsimpliesmaintenance
increasingsystemreliability.
Thesonarroommustbedimensionedtohousealltherelevantcabinetsthatcomprise
theSimradMS70.
Thephysicaldistancebetweenthetransmittersandthetransducerislimiteddue
tothelengthofthetransducercables.
Thesonarroommustnotbeunnecessarilyobstructedbygirders,pipesetc.which
mightcauseinstallationproblemsorimpedemaintenance.
Thesonarroommustbeaccessibleunderallconditionsatseaorataberth.
Alldoorsorhatchesmustbedesignedsothattheequipmentcanberemovedwithout
beingdisassembled.
Heating
Thesonarroommustbeequippedwithheater,dimensionedtomaintaintheequipment
withinitsenvironmentaltolerances(atleast1000W),installedclosetothedeck.Heating
isalsoaneffectivemethodforreducinghumidity.
