PowerSupplyUnit
TheSimradMS70comprisesthreePowerSupplyUnits.EachunitprovidesACandDC
powertooneofthethreetransceiverracksinthetransceiver.Externalanaloguepower
supplieshavebeenchosentoensureminimumelectricnoise.
InordertoreducethevoltagedropinthepowercablesbetweeneachPowerSupplyUnit
andtheTransceiverUnit,thesecablesmustbekeptasshortaspossible.Thecablesmust
alsoberuninsteelconduitstominimizeelectricnoise.

•OneInternetPowerSwitch
•Onepowersupply,6Vdc
•Onepowersupply,12Vdc
•Onepowersupply,75Vdc

TheMS70Transducerisplane,andconsistsofa

Thematchingtransformerforeachtransducer
elementislocatedinthetransducer,thisallowsalow
impedanceconnectiontotheTransceiverUnit.The
arrayisconnectedtotherearsideofthethreeTRXU
Transceiversubracksusing25cables.
UninterruptedPowerSupply(UPS)
InordertoensurecontinuousoperationoftheSimrad
MS70independentofvaryingqualityofthevessel’s
mainssupply,theuseofuninterruptedpowersupplies
(UPS)isimportant.
