Presentationmodes
TheSH90sonarprovidesyouwithseveraldifferentpresentationmodes.Thesehavebeen
createdtocoverallyouroperationalneedsforvarioustypesofshingandshinggear.
Bowup
WhenBowupmodeisselected,thevesselsymbolisstationaryonthescreenwiththe
bowpointingupwards.
Theechopresentationcovers360degreesaroundthevessel,andallechoesareupdated
foreveryping.Thedistancefromthevesselsymboltotheouterechoringisequaltothe
selectedrange.Themovementoftheechoesacrossthepresentationiscontrolledbya
combinationofthevessel’scourseandspeed,andthetarget’sownmovements.
Bowup/Audio
WhenBowup/Audiomodeisselected,theupperhalfofthescreenshowsabow-up
presentation,whilethelowerpartisusedforarecordingoftheaudiochannel.
Theaudiochannelisshownwithacontinuouswhitelineinthehorizontalpicture,andit
canbetrainedinanydirection.Therecordedechoesareadirectreplicaoftheechoes
underthewhiteaudioline.
Astheaudiochannelisrecordedoveraperiodoftime,thismodeisespeciallyuseful
fordetectionofweakechoesmixedwithreverberationornoise.Theinformation
recordedbytheaudiochannelisalwaysstoredinthecomputer,evenifanothermode
isselected.Thatmeansthatthisrecordingwillalwaysbepresentedwhenselecting
theBowup/Audiomode.
Notethatthevesselsymbolcanbemovedtoanypositioninthehorizontalviewwiththe
cursorandtheOffCentrebuttonontheOperatingPanel.
Bowup/Vertical
WhenBowup/Verticalmodeisselected,thepictureisdividedintothreesections.
Theleftsideisabow-uppresentationsimilartotheBowupmodepreviouslydescribed.
TheupperpartontherighthandsideisaCatchdatapresentation,whilethelowerpart
isaV erticalslicepresentation.
