Purpose
Observethisgenericproceduretochange
aparametervalue.Onceyouhavegained
moreexperience,andhavebecomemore
familiarwiththeavailableoptions,you
willselecttheparametersdirectlyfrom
thebuttons.
Important
Inthismanual,thephrase“click”means
thatyoushallplacethecursoroverthespeciedbutton,eldorfunction,andpress
theSelectbuttonontheOperatingPanel(ortheleftmousebutton)once.Thephrase
“double-click”meansthatyoushallpresstheSelectbutton(ortheleftmousebutton)
twicerapidly.
Thephrase“press”meansthatyoushallpressaphysicalbuttonwithyournger,thisis
typicallyanybuttonontheOperatingPanel.
Procedure
1Movethecursortothemiddleofthemenubutton(A).Observethatthecursor
changesitsshapetoamenusymbol.
2PresstheSelectbuttonontheOperatingPanel.
3Observethatthecorrespondingparameterdialog(B)opensatthebottomofthe
menu.
4Movethecursordowntothedialog,positionthecursorovertherequestedparameter
value(C),andpresstheSelectbuttonagain.
Certainparametersettingsareidentiedwithanasterisk(*).Thissymbolindicates
thedefaultsettingknowntoperformwellundernormalconditions.Ifyouget
“lost“intheparametersettings,theDefaultsettingsfunctionwillbringupthese
normalparameters.TheDefaultsettingfunctionisavailableontheSetupmenu,and
adedicatedparameterdialogisused.
5Observethatthechangeyouhaverequestedtakesimmediateeffectonthesonar.
Thismakesiteasytotesttheeffectofeachparametersetting.Notehoweverthat
transceiverrelatedparameterswillrstbeoperationalinthenextping.
