Procedure
1PressthePowerbuttononthecolourdisplay.
2PressthePowerbuttonontheOperatingPanel,andkeepitdepressedfor
approximatelytwoseconds.
POWER
Thegreenlampontherightsideofthebuttonwillashtoindicated
thatthepowerhasbeenswitchedon,andthatthecomputeris
startingup.
Afterashortperiodyouwillseethesonarpictureonthedisplay.
Note
IfthesonarsystemhasbeendisconnectedfromACpower ,theProcessorUnitmust
bestartedmanually.Usetheon/offswitchbehindthelidonthefrontpanel.
3Checkthatthewaterdepthbeneaththekeelissufcienttolowerthetransducer.
4PresstheDownbuttonontheOperatingPaneltolowerthetransducer.
Down
Thegreenlampnexttothebuttonwillash,andanaudiblesignal
indicatesthatthetransducerislowered.
Whenthelowerpositionhasbeenreached,thelampwillbelit
continuously,theaudiblesignalstops,andthetopbuttoninthe
StatusparameterdialogshowsTransducer:Down.
Note
Bydefaultthetransmitpowerisdisabledwhenthesonarispoweredup.Thisis
forsafetyreasons.OntheHorizontalmenu,youwillseethattheTXpowerbutton
ashestoremindyouofthis.
5OntheHorizontalmenu,clickTXpowertoselectFull.
Tip
ThesonarwillstartupevenifcircuitboardsintheTransceiverUnitare
malfunctioning.Thesonarwillthenneedmoretimetoperformthestart-up
procedure,andashortmessagewillbeprovidedabovetheprogressbar.

Afterthesonarhasstartedup,theTRUOn/Offdialogcanbeopenedbyclicking
theTRUOn/OffbuttonontheTestmenu.ClicktheAdvancedbuttontoobtainmore
information.
