LOG CALIBRATION USING SOG
With a GPS connected to the system the log can easily be
calibrated using the Speed Over Ground input.
1. Maintain a steady speed and course and allow the SOG and
log readings to settle.
2. Adjust the log reading to be equal to the SOG reading.
Note ! If you are sailing in a known tide or current, add to or subtract
this value from the final setting of the log reading.
Screen 4
MANUAL LOG CALIBRATION
This method is used to calibrate the log while sailing a known
distance.
1. Press the
button when starting to sail the known distance.
The display flashes ‘Run(ning)’ and counts up the sailed
distance.
2. When reaching the end of the known distance press the
button again. The display shows ‘LogDist Adj.’ and the
measured distance is flashing.
3. Repeat the above while sailing the distance in the opposite
direction.
4. Finally adjust the reading to be the same as the sailed
distance.
Note ! The distance in one direction should be minimum 0,1 NM and
maximum 10 NM. Otherwise the calibration will fail.
