Menubuttons
•Range:Selecttherangeforthehorizontalpresentation.
•Tilt:Selectthesonarbeam’sverticalangle.
•Bearing:Thisbuttoncontrolsthedirectionofthewhite
bearinglineonyoursonarpicture.Thislinemaybeusedto
controlthedirectionoftheverticalslice.
•Gain:Thissettingcontrolstheamplicationofthereceived
echoesinthehorizontalpresentation.Ifyouactivatethe
AGC(AutomaticGainControl)function,thisgainsettingis
inuenced.
•PulseForm:Usethisfunctiontoselecttheformofthe
transmittedpulse.ThiscouldeitherbeFM(Frequency
modulation)withdifferentpulselengths,orCWwithdifferent
pulselengths.
•TXPower:Thisbuttoncontrolsthetransmissionpower.
•Beam:Thisbuttonallowsyoutochooseverticalbeamwidth
inthehorizontalpresentation.
•TVG:TimeVariedGain.Thisfunctionwillautomatically
adjustthegaininthesonartocompensateforgeometric
spreadandabsorption.NotethattheTVGwillonlywork
withintherst1000meters.
•AGC:AutomaticGainControl.Thisfunctionwill
automaticallyreducethegainifyouexperiencereverberation
andnoise,orincreaseitiftheconditionspermitit.Usingthe
AGCwillensurebestpossiblesignalprocessing.
•RCG:ReverberationControlledGain.Thisfunctionwill
automaticallyremoveunwantedreverberationfromthe
bottomorfromtheseasurface.Itmayhoweveralsoremove
scatteredsh.
•NoiseFilter:Thisltercanbeusedtominimizethe
interferencefromotheracousticsystems(sonarsandecho
sounders)onyourownandothervessels.Itwillalsosuppress
noisefromyourpropellers,andfromothersimilarnoise
sources.
•PPFilter:ThePing-to-Pinglterwillonlyshowyouthe
echoesiftheyarestillpresentafterseveralconsecutivepings
(2,4or8).Thisfunctionwillprovideyouwithamorestable
echopresentation,asspuriousechoeswillbesuppressed.
