Bowup/180°Vertical
WhentheBowup/180°Verticalmodeisselected,theupperpart
ofthescreenshowsacurtailedBowuppresentation,whilethe
lowerpartshowsa180degreesVerticalslicepresentation.This
modeismainlyintendedfortrawlers,wheretheverticalview
actsasamultibeamechosounder.Thebearingofthevertical
slicecanbeselectedintheVerticalViewmenu.Youcancontrol
theaudioline,anindicatorline,oryoucansetittobelocked
inforward,aftorathwartshipsposition.Asthecylindrical
transducerhasa“blindzone”straightdown,anechopresentation
inthisdirectionwillbelimitedtotwoapproximately60degrees
sectors.Toavoidthis“blindzone”,theverticalsliceismade
“tippable”,andbyselectinga-60degreestipangle(orless),
afull180degreescoverageisobtained.Thetipanglecanbe
adjustedfrom+10to-90degrees.Inadditiontotheread-outin
theTipmenubutton,theselectedtipangleisshownwithadotted
yellowlineinthetiltindicatorintheupperleftcorner.
Truemotion
WhenTruemotionmodeisselected,thepictureislockedtoa
geographicalposition,wherethevesselmovesaroundthescreen
accordingtoitspresentcourseandspeed.Allechoesarealways
presentedintheircorrectpositionrelativetothevessel,andtheir
movementsonthescreenwillbeatruerepresentationofthe
movementsofthetargetsthroughthewater.Whenthevessel
symbolreachestheedgeofthescreen,itwillautomaticallybe
movedbacktothecentre,ortoapositiondeterminedbytheOff
CentrebuttonontheOperatingPanel.Thispositionisresettothe
screencentrewheneverthemodeischanged.Whenyoupress
theT argetTrackbutton,thetargetwillautomaticallybemovedto
thescreencentre.
Truemotion/Vertical
WhenTruemotion/V erticalmodeisselected,thepictureis
dividedintothreesections;wheretheleftsideisaTruemotion
presentationsimilartothetruemotionpresentationpreviously
described.TheupperpartontherighthandsideisaCatchdata
presentation,whilethelowerpartisaV erticalslicepresentation.

WhenNorthupmodeisselected,truenorthisalwaysuponthe
screen.Thevesselsymbolisstationarywiththebowpointingin
thevessel’scoursedirection.Themovementoftheechoesacross
thescreenarecontrolledbyacombinationofthevessel’scourse
andspeedandthetarget’sownmovements.
