DISPLAYMODES
TheSH90sonarprovidesyouwithseveraldifferentdisplay
modes.Thesehavebeencreatedtocoverallyouroperational
needsforvarioustypesofshingandshinggear.
Bowup
WhenBowupmodeisselected,thevesselsymbolisstationaryon
thescreenwiththebowpointingupwards.Theechopresentation
covers360degreesaroundthevessel,andallechoesareupdated
foreveryping.Thedistancefromthevesselsymboltotheouter
echoringisequaltotheselectedrange.Themovementofthe
echoesacrossthescreenarecontrolledbyacombinationofthe
vessel’scourseandspeedandthetarget’sownmovements.
Bowup/Audio
WhenBowup/Audiomodeisselected,theupperhalfofthe
screenshowsabow-uppresentation,whilethelowerpartis
usedforarecordingoftheaudiochannel.Theaudiochannelis
shownwithacontinuouswhitelineinthehorizontalpicture,
anditcanbetrainedinanydirection.Therecordedechoesare
adirectreplicaoftheechoesunderthewhiteaudioline.As
theaudiochannelisrecordedoveraperiodoftime,thismode
isespeciallyusefulfordetectionofweakechoesmixedwith
reverberationornoise.Theinformationrecordedbytheaudio
channelisalwaysstoredinthecomputer,evenifanothermodeis
selected.Thatmeansthatthisrecordingwillalwaysbepresented
whenselectingtheBowup/Audiomode.Notethatthevessel
symbolcanbemovedtoanypositioninthehorizontalviewwith
thecursorandOffCentrebuttonontheOperatingPanel.
BowUp/Vertical
WhenBowup/V erticalmodeisselected,thepictureisdivided
intothreesections;wheretheleftsideisabow-uppresentation
similartotheBowuppresentationpreviouslydescribed.The
upperpartontherighthandsideisaCatchdatapresentation,
whilethelowerpartisaV erticalslicepresentation.
BowUp/DualVertical
WhenBowup/Dualverticalmodeisselected,theupperpart
ofthescreenshowsacurtailedbow-uppresentation,whilethe
lowerpartshowstwoverticalslicepresentations.Thebearing
oftheleftverticalpresentationisindicatedbythewhiteaudio
lineinthehorizontalpresentation,whilethebearingoftheright
verticalpresentationisindicatedbytheyellow-dashedline.
Allbordersbetweenthedifferentviewsmaybemovedtoany
positionbyusingthetrackball.
