TheSimradSH90isanomnidirectionalhighfrequencysonar.It
isdesignedforallsizedshingvessels,bothpurseseinersand
trawlers.Theoperationalfrequencyis114kHz.Thecylindrical
multi-elementtransducerallowstheomnidirectionalsonarbeam
tobetiltedelectronicallyfrom+10to–60degrees.Thisallows
youtoautomaticallytrackschoolsofsh,andtoobservethe
wholewatervolumearoundthevessel.Astabilisingsystemis
includedforelectronicpitchandrollcompensation.
Greatemphasishasbeenplacedongivingthebestpossible
presentationsonahighresolutioncolourdisplay.TheProcessor
UnitiscontrolledbyMicrosoft’sWindowsXP®operating
system,whichresultinaexiblechoiceofdisplaymodesfora
largerangeofuserapplications.
Thesignalprocessingandbeamformingisperformedinafast
digitalsignalprocessingsystemusingthefulldynamicrange
ofthesignals.Inadditiontothetraditionalsinglefrequency
transceiversystem,theSimradSH90containsanadvanced
