FMCorrelationlter
TheFM(frequencymodulation)isasweepinfrequencies.
Thereceiverltersoutthosesignalsthatarethesameasthe
transmitted.Thisprovidesalteringeffect,whichefciently
reducesinterference,noiseandreverberation.Inadditionto
givingacleanandstableechopresentation,thiswillnormally
alsoincreasethesonar’sdetectionrange.Theadvantageof
theFMcorrelationlteristhatitretainsthehighresolutionin
rangewithlongpulselengthsandhighenergy,andthatitisnot
sensitivetomovingtargets.
AGC(AutomaticGainControl)
TheAGC(AutomaticGainControl)sensestheecholevelin
severaldirections,andusethisasabasisforadjustingallthe
receiverbeams.TheAGCwillthusprovideautomaticscaling
ofthedatainordertomaintainproperdynamicrangebasedon
allechovalues
