GEAR SYMBOL
The gear symbol can be a seine circle or a trawl symbol,
depending on the selection in the GEAR menu.
Seine circle:
To set a seine symbol, first press the GEAR button once. The
button lights, and the seine circle appears in front of the ship
symbol, on the side that is selected in the GEAR menu. The seine
circle will now follow the ships movements.
At the moment the setting of the seine starts, press the GEAR
button again. The seine circle will now be stationary to indicate
the ideal ships path for the seine setting. A square symbol
indicates the starting point, another square shows the half-seine
out, and a third square shows the end of the seine.
Trawl symbol:
The trawl data can be set manually in the GEAR menu, or
automatically by connecting the SIMRAD FS 3000 or ITI trawl
monitoring system to the sonar system.
In the manual mode, the trawl symbol will be displayed on the
ships course line, with the selected depth and distance.
If the FS 3000 trawl sonar is connected, the trawl symbol will
automatically be displayed in correct depth in the vertical display
modes.
If the ITI trawl system is connected, the trawl symbol will be
displayed with correct distance, bearing and depth. In addition,
thetrawlopening, temperature,andtrawlfilling indicatormaybe
displayed.
Press the GEAR button to set the trawl symbol. The button lights
and the trawl symbol appears on the display.
In the OMNI/VERTICAL mode, a long-dashed line will indicate
the bearing of the left-hand side vertical slice. The first time the
GEAR button is pressed, this line will become white and a 180°
extension of the audio line. The second operation of the GEAR
button will lock the left-hand slice to the trawl symbol, and the
colour of the line will change to yellow.
