3. DISPLAY-ORIENTED PUSH BUTTONS
TARGET MARKER
To set a target marker, move the cursor to the target and press the
button. A triangle symbol witha corresponding number will then
appear at the cursor position. 8 numbered target markers may be
shown simultaneously. When more than 8 markers are
positioned, the oldest one is erased. The position data for 8
markers is displayed in the MARKERS menu.
The sonar keeps track of the markers even outside the display.
The target marker can also be used for MANUAL TARGET
TRACKING, because the sonar calculates the speed (S), course
(C) and distance (D) between the twolast selected target markers.
The result is displayed in white figures in the lower right corner
(left corner in AUDIO or ECHOSOUNDER modes). The
calculated result will be displayed for 3 minutes.
In addition to be used for target tracking, this is also useful for
distance measurements between two selected positions.
OWN SHIP MARKER
A square marker is displayed on the own ship symbol when the
button is pressed. The marker will then be locked to that
geographic position.
As with the target markers, this marker is given a number, and its
position data is also displayed in the MARKERS menu.
CIRCLE MARKER
To set the circle marker, move the cursor to the desired position
and press the button. A circle symbol will appear at the cursor
position, and the button will light. The size of the symbol will be
equal to the selected seine net if a net is selected in the GEAR
menu, or equal to net no. 1 if a trawl symbol is selected.
To erase the circle symbol, press the button once more.
