1. CURSOR JOYSTICK

This joystick is used to move the yellow cursor (+) on the display,

and can be used for the following purposes, which will be

described thoroughly for each function later in this chapter:

· Distance, bearing and depth indication

for any position on the screen, with the readouts in yellow

figures in the upper right-hand corner (lower corner for

omni/vertical modes).

· Target marker positioning

when using the TARGET MARKER push button.

· Circle marker positioning

when using the CIRCLE MARKER push button.

· Manual target tracking

for calculation of the target movement between the two latest

selected TARGET MARKERS.

· Selection of position to be tracked

when using the POSITION TRACK push button.

· Selecting of target to be tracked

when moving the cursor to a target and using the TARGET

TRACK push button.

· Selecting of new display centre

when using the DISPLAY CENTRE push button in TRUE

MOTION mode.

The joystick can be moved in any direction. The speed of the

cursor increases with the movement of the joystick. The joystick

isself-centring, andthecursor willremaininthe selectedposition

until it is used for one of the above-mentioned purposes.
