2.9 Omni/Vertical
This mode is specially made for trawling, where a complete
overview of the horizontal and vertical situation is presented.

The bearing of the vertical slice on the right--hand side is as in
180°/Verticalmodeindicated by thewhite audioline, whilethe
slice on the left--hand side in this mode is indicated by a
long--dashed line. This left--hand slice can be selectedwiththe
gear button to be an 180° extension of the audio line, or to be
locked to the trawl symbol.
The trawl symbol can be added into the echo presentation in
three different ways:
· Manually from the menu.
· Automatically in correct depth when connected to Simrad
FS900 or FS 3300 trawl sonars.
· Automatically in correct depth, distance and bearing when
connected to Simrad ITI Trawl Instrumentation.
Figure 8 shows a typical example of a pelagic trawling
situation. The right--hand vertical slice is here locked to the
school of fish, while the left--hand slice is locked to the trawl
symbol. The vertical opening of the trawl is indicated by two
dotted lines in the vertical presentation.
Thenormaltiltindicatorisherereplacedbythedigitalreadout
in the centre on the top of the display, this to give more space
for the echo presentation.
