2.8 270°/Vertical
This mode is specially made for purse seining, where the
verticalhalfsliceisdisplayedinthelowerleftcornerfornormal
setting of the net on starboard side. If the net is selected to be
set on the port side, the vertical half slice will be displayed in
the lower right--hand corner.

With this presentation mode, it will be easy to keep the best
contact with a school in both the vertical and horizontal
presentation, and to determine the size distribution of the
school. The position of the school relative to the bottom is
another important information in the presentation.
Figure7showsatypicalexampleofaseinecatchsituation.The
horizontal presentation shows the seine circle and the course
line of the target and the ship. The upper square marker
indicates the position where the net was shot, and the lower
square marker indicates the half net position.
The slice shows a detailed presentation of the school and the
bottom.Thelowerdottedlineindicatesthetotalnetdepth,and
the vertical line to the left indicates the sinking depth of the
net.
The catch data page for purse seining is selected in the menu
field. In addition to showing all the net data relative to the
targetandthebottom,thispagealsoshowsallavailabletarget
data. A detailed description of this catch data page is given in
chapter 5.26 in section Operation.
