2.2 Bow up

In this mode the ship symbol is stationary in the centre of the

screen, with the bow pointing upwards.The echopresentation

cancover360degreesaroundtheship,andifOMNIisselected,

all echoes will be updated for each ping. The distance from the

ship symbol to the echo ring is equal to the selected range.

The movement of the echoes across the screen will be a

combinationofthe ship’scourseandspeedandthetargets’own

movement. Figure 1 shows the Bow Up mode with a school of

fish in manual and automatic target tracking. The manual

tracking data isshown inthe lowerright--handsideoftheecho

field, and the automatic tracking data is shown in the lower

left--hand side. The menu field shows the submenu for the

MODE selection.
