2 MODES OF OPERATION
2.1 General
Great emphasis has been placed on giving the best possible
overviewpresentationoftheechosituationofthewatervolume
around and under the vessel. The result is 9 different display
modes, which gives a flexible choice for a large range of user
applications.
The mode selection is made in the menu, and a detailed
descriptionofeachmodewillbegiveninthefollowingchapters.
Inadditiontothesymbolsshowninthefollowingmodefigures,
different”cosmetics”canbe addedonthedisplay. Adescription
ofthedifferentsymbolsandcosmeticswillbegiventhroughout
this chapter.
Note that the different mode figures shown in the following
chapters are common for several types of sonars. Details like
range, menu etc. may therefore not be correct.
