4.4 Lubrication of the Hull Unit
From the factory, the Hull Unit is lubricated with the types of
oil or grease as specified below. However, if of equal quality,
other types may be utilized. The numbers below refer to the
lubrication points on figure 4.
1 The ball bearing on the top of the hoist/lower screw
should be lubricated with normal ball bearing grease.
2 The hoisting spindle should be lubricated with
MOLYBDENUM DISULPHIDE GREASE.
3 Topping up the shaft sleeve through the grease nipple is
only required if the shaft is dry of lubrication, or if water
tends to force its way up along the shaft. Remember to
open the pressure let--down plug when topping up. The
shaft sleeve is filled with ESSO CACAR K1 from the
factory.
4.5 Hoisting and lowering with hand crank
In case of emergency or for service purposes, the transducer
may behoistedandloweredbymeansofthehandcrank,which
is located in the motor control box on the Hull Unit.
1 First set the hoisting/lowering switch S302 to STOP (see
figure 3).
2 DismountthetimingbeltcoveronthetopoftheHullUnit
and fasten the hand crank to the hoisting spindle as
shown in figure 4.
3 Remember to set the hoisting/lowering switch back to
REMOTE after the timing belt cover has been mounted.
