2.2 Adjusting the middle position switch
Normally, when the transducer is selected to middle position on
the Sonar Control Unit, only onehalf of the transducerface should
be outside the sonar trunk (see figure 5). The middle position
switch, which is a magnetic switch, must then be adjusted
according to the trunk length:
j With the Hull Unit fully hoisted to upper position,
measure the distance x between the bottom of the
transducerandthetrunkend.Seethelowerpartoffigure
5.
X = mm
If it is impossible to measure the distance x, it can be calculated by
using the total trunk height C from page 12 in section “Installation
procedures” .
Total trunk height C = mm
-- Distance flange/transducer bottom = 760 mm
= Distance X mm
j Use the hoisting/lowering switch in the motor control
unit to position the transducer in the calculated correct
position x + 240 mm (see figure 5).
j Loosen the bracket for the middle position switch and

5. If needed, spare cable is coiled up behind the bracket.
j Fasten the bracket and check that the distance between
the magnet and the switch is approximately 5--8 mm.
j Check the passing of the middle position switch by using
the hoisting/lowering switch.

j Release the motor overload switch S301 by pressing the
red button marked 0. This to prevent unwanted
lowering of the transducer.
