3 ADAPTER FLANGES
In order to mount the SD 570 / SE 570 sonar Hull Unit in an
already installed SQ4, SQ, SB2 or SK3 trunk, an adapter flange has
to be mounted (refer to figure 5, 6 or 7). The figures in chapter 2
show the top flange for the different trunk systems, and it is
recommended to use these figures to make sure which type of
adapter flange to be used.
3.1 SQ4 adapter flange
Figure 5 shows the SQ4 trunk with the adapter flange for
mounting the SD 570 / SE 570 Hull Unit. This adapter flange may
be made bythe shipyard,or be delivered from Simrad as an option
(Simrad reg. no. SD5-112641). The optional adapter flange which
is approved by Det Norske Veritas (DnV), also includes a blind
cover and a gasket set.
The drawings of the adapter flange and blind cover are included
in section ”Drawings”:

Figure 5 shows the SQ4 trunk with the adapter flange mounted.
For future use, the measurements of the distance A, and the
heights B and C shown in figure 5 have to be carried out and put
into the tables below:

The complete height of the trunk and adapter flange C must be
minimum 920 mm (36 1/4“).
