1 INTRODUCTION
The mounting trunk for the SD 570/SE 570 sonar Hull Unit may
be made by the shipyard or be delivered as an option from Simrad
(Simrad reg. no. SD5-112632). The optional trunk which is
approved by Det Norske Veritas (DnV), also includes a blind
cover and a gasket.
The drawings of the mounting trunk and blind cover are included
in section ”Drawings”:
- Mounting trunk: drawing no. 830-113234. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- Blind cover: drawing no. 830-113233. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The Hull Unit may also be installed in an already installed SX, SL,
SQ, SQ4, SB2 or SK3 trunk. The Hull Unit fits directly into the SX
and SL trunks, but for the SQ4, SQ, SB2and SK3 trunks, an adapter
flange has to be mounted. These adapter flanges can be delivered
as an option from Simrad. In such a case, refer to chapter 2 to find
which type of adapter flange that fits to the already installed
trunk.
