TheTVG(TimeV ariedGain)controlsthegaininthesignal
amplier.Thegainisweakestjustaftertheping,andincreases
inaccordancewithtime(andthereforerange).Anumberof
standardgaincurvesareavailable,aswellasOff.ByusingTVG,
thegainisadjustedinsuchwaythataschoolofshwillbe
presentedwithapproximatelythesamestrengthonthescreenin
anypositioninsidetheregulatedTVGrangeof1000meters.
