1Switchoffallelectricequipmentthatcancauseelectrical
noise.
Thisincludesmotor,propellers,thrusters,winches,cooling-
andairconditioningsystems,pumps,cranes,hydraulic
systemsetc.
2Switchtheequipmentonagainoneatthetime,andcheck
thesonareverytime.
Withluck,youwillspotwhichofyourelectricalsystems
thatcreatethenoise.Todealwiththeproblem,consultyour
dealerand/oracertiedshipselectrician.

situationsthatyouareunabletocontrol.Twotypicalconditions
aretemperatureandsalinitylayers,anddeectionscausedby
increasingordecreasingwatertemperature.

inthewatercolumn.Sincethespeedofsoundinwaterdepends
onitstemperatureandsalinity,suchlayerswillcausethesound
beamtobereected.
