Beam
Dialogdescription
ThisparameterdialogopenswhenyouclicktheBeambutton
intheHorizontalmenu.
Thisfunctionenablesyoutoselecttheverticalbeamwidthin
thehorizontalpresentation.Thebeamselectioncanbemade
manually,orcontrolledautomaticallybytheselectedrange.
•Thewidebeamisdesignedtobeusedwithshorterrangesin
ordertoobtainalargerverticalcoverage.Thismakesthe
sonarless“tiltdependent”inthecatchingphase.
•Thenormalbeamisdesignedtobeusedforthemedium
ranges.
•Thenarrowbeamisprovidedforthelongerranges.The
focusednarrowbeamhasthehighestsourcelevel,which
increasesthedetectionrange.
Inautomaticmode,thebeamwillchangeautomaticallyasdened
bytherangeselectionsmadebytheWideandNormalbuttons.

Beamdialogoptions
•Wide:Clickthisbuttontoselecttheupperrangeforthe
widebeamwidthinAutomode.Forrangeshigherthanthis
selection,thebeamwillautomaticallyswitchtoNormalor
NarrowdependingonthecurrentselectionfortheNormal
button.
•Normal:Clickthisbuttontoselecttheupperrangeforthe
normalbeamwidthinAutomode.Forrangeshigherthan
thisselection,thebeamwillautomaticallyswitchtoNarrow,
whichisindicatedbyagreyandunavailableNarrowbutton.
•Close:Clicktoclosetheparameterdialog.
•Help:Clicktoaccesstheon-linehelp.
