Howtoremovenoisefromthesensordata
TheMultipathFilterisdesignedtoremedyforreections,spikesandtime-laginthe
sensordata.Theseproblemsmayoccurifneighbouringchannelsareused,orifthePI50
isdisturbedbyotherhydroacousticsystemsinuseonownorothervessels.
Whenyouoperateinareaswithsubstantialreverberationduetothebottomconditions,
orinshallowwaters,youmayexperience“jumps”orspikesinthedatareceivedfrom
thesensors.Sucherrorscanalsobecausedbyothertypesofhydroacousticequipment
operatingonthePI50frequencyrange.Thislterhasbeenimplementedtoremedyfor
suchinterferenceproblemaswell.

Ifyouhaveonedepthsensormountedoneachtrawldoor,youcanmakethePI50
calculatetheverticalgeometry.Thesystemwillthenreadeachofthetwodepthvalues,
subtractonefromtheother,andshowyouthedifference.
