Onapelagictrawl,placethesensorbehindthefootrope.Y ouwillthenknowatonce
ifthetrawlapproachesthebottom.Ifyouuseasecondsensorbehindtheheadrope,
thedifferencebetweenthetwomeasurementswillgiveyoutheheightofthetrawl
opening.
Thesensorcontainsasmallechosoundertomeasuretheheightabovethebottom.

BCurrentheight:Thisistheheightfromthestrongestecho(seabedorfootrope)
underthesensor,anduptothepositiononthegearinwhichthesensorismounted.
Thecurrentmeasurementunitisshown,aswellastwobluearrowheads.
Thetwoarrowheadsindicatethecurrentverticalmovement
ofthesensor;upordown.Inthisexamplethesensoris
slowlyincreasingwith5meterseachminute.Ifthetwo
arrowheadsarepointingt
o w a r d s eachother,theheightis
decreasing.Iftheyarepointingawayf
r o m eachother,theheightisincreasing.
CHeightchanges:Thisdigitshowsheightchangesrecordedbythesensor.Thevalue
isshowninunitsperminute.Thedirectionisshownwiththetwobluearrowheads.
Ifthesensordoesnotdetectanyheightchanges,thetrianglesareremoved.
DHistoryeld:Whenthesizeofthepresentationrectanglepermits,ahistoryeld
isshown.Theeldoffersagraphicalpresentationofthesensorinformationfor
thelast20minutes.Theverticalrangeissetautomaticallydenedbythecurrent
measurements.
EPulselampandTrendviewicons:ThegreenPulselampiconasheseverytimea
signalisreceivedfromthesensor.ClicktheTrendviewicontoopen(andclose)
theTrendviewforthesensor.
