•Onabottomtrawl,youwillusethesensortoachievefullcontrolwhenshooting,
andtopositionthetrawlontheslope.
•Duringpelagictrawling,youknowhowimportantitistopositionthetrawlrelative
tothelargestconcentrationofsh.ByusingaPIDepthsensor,youcanmonitorthe
exactdepthrelativetothesurface,andadjustthetrawldepthaccordingly.Additional
depthsensorsonthedoorswillmonitorifthedoorsstayatthesamedepth.
•Duringseining,usethePIDepthsensortomonitorthedepthofthenet,andthe
descendingspeedofthenet.Thenyouwillknowwhentostartpursing,andwhich
speedtouse.
•MountedonaDanishSeinethePIDepthsensormonitorsthesinkingspeedofthenet,
anditwilltellyouwhentostarthaulingoncethenethasstoppedsinking.
Threesensorversionsareavailable.Thesearesetupformaximumdepth300m,600
mor1000m.Thedepthrangeisxedbythefactory,andcannotbechangedinthePI
Conguratorutility.

ThecolourcodeisissuedautomaticallybythePI50system.Thesamecolouris
usedintheTrendviewandintheHistoryeld.
BCurrentdepth:Thisthecurrentdepthmeasuredbythesensor.Thecurrent
measurementunitisshown,aswellasabluearrowhead.Thearrowheadindicates
thecurrentverticalmovementofthesensor;upordown.Inthisexamplethesensor
measures82,5metersfromtheseasurfaceanddowntothesensor,andthesensor–
andthusthegear–isslowlyrisingwith3meterseachminute.
CDepthchanges:Thisdigitshowsdepthchangesrecordedbythesensor,andthusthe
ascendingordescendingspeedofthenet.Thevalueisshowninunitsperminute.
Thedirectionisshownwiththebluearrowhead.Ifthesensordoesnotdetectany
depthchanges,thearrowheadisremoved.
DHistoryeld:Whenthesizeofthepresentationrectanglepermits,ahistoryeld
isshown.Theeldoffersagraphicalpresentationofthesensorinformationfor
thelast20minutes.Theverticalrangeissetautomaticallydenedbythecurrent
measurements.
