sensor.

TheUpdateRateparameterisvital.Theupdaterateyouchooseherem u s t
complytotheupdaterateprogrammedintothesensor.Ifthesedonot
match,thecommunicationwillnotwork.
ThedefaultupdateratesforthevarioussensorsarelistedinchapterPI50
Sensors.
Tochangethechannelnumberinthesensor,usethePIConguratorutility.

aSensorValueName
Bydefault,theSensorValueNameisthesameasthesensornamelistedin
theAvailableSensorslist.IfyouhaveakeyboardconnectedtothePI50
computer,youcanclickintheeld,andenteranothername.Y oucan
alsoopentheon-screenkeyboard.
TheSensorValueNameisusedintheSensorviews.Ifyouaresettingupa
dualsensor,youcanentertwodifferentnames,forexample“Portdoor”
and“Starboarddoor”.

Example:IfyouhavethreePICatchsensorsonyourtrawl,youcanname
them“20Ton”,“40Ton”and“60Ton”.

ThisisthecommunicationchannelusedbetweenthesensorandthePI50
system.
Note
TheChannelNumberparameterisvital.Thecommunicationchannel
numberyouchooseherem
u s t complytothechannelnumberprogrammed
intothesensor.Ifthesedonotmatch,thecommunicationwillnotwork.By
default,thechannelnumberwillmatchthefactorysetting.
Ifyouusemorethanonesensorsofthesametypeatthesametime,the
channelnumberofoneofthesensorsmustbechangedtomakeitunique
forthesensor.Thismustbechangedb
o t h intheactualsensor,a n d inthe
SelectSensorsdialogduringconguration.
Thedefaultcommunicationchannelsforthevarioussensorsarelistedin
chapterPI50Sensors.
Tochangethechannelnumberonthesensor,usethePIConguratorutility.
