Thepurposeofthisinformationistoguideyouthroughtherequiredtasksrelatedto
softwareinstallationand/orupgradingontheSimradPI50.
SoftwareupgradesareusefulifyourPI50fails,andyoususpectasoftwareerror.An
upgradeisalsorequiredwheneverthePI50softwareismodied.
IfthePI50systemisprovidedwithacomputer,itisdeliveredwithallnecessarysoftware
installed,conguredandtested.Ifyouuseyourowncomputer,youmustdothisyourself.
Tocheckwhichsoftwareversionyouhave,observetheAboutdialogopenedfromthe
Displaymenu.
Ifyouexperienceproblemsduringasoftwareinstallationorupgrade,writedownthe
installationparameters.RemovethePI50softwareentirely,thenreinstallfromscratch.

Usethisprocedureifyouneedtoinstallthesoftwareonacomputer.
Notethatminimumhardwareandsoftwarerequirementsmustbemetbythecomputer.
1Powerupthecomputer.
2InsertthePI50CD-ROM.
IfyourcomputerisnotttedwithaCDorDVDdrive,copythelesfromtheCDto
aUSBmemorystick.
3Observethattheinstallationprogramopens.
Iftheinstallationprogramdoesnotstartautomatically,usealemanagertoaccess
theCDorUSBmemorystick.
Double-clickontheSetup.exeletostarttheinstallation.
4Allowtheinstallationprogramtorun.Followtheinstructionsprovided.
5Oncetheinstallationhasbeencompleted,double-clicktheprogramicononthe
desktoptostarttheapplication.
6IfyouuseWindows7operatingsystem:
aObservethatWindows7Firewallwillopenadialogrequestinginformation
aboutthenetwork.
